In this August, 2014 photo supplied by the Vermont Transportation Agency, this so-called "bridge in a backpack" is simply under construction in Fairfield, Vt. The bridge's hollow tubes and so are with concrete and then covered plus a iPhone 5 carbon fiber composite decking, making them impervious to the elements. The roadway can be laid across the top. The connection, which is projected to last hundred years, is scheduled to open within the next few weeks, the fraction of the time it would take to establish a traditional bridge.
